To promote a population free of hunger in Umuzocha village,
Anambra State, Nigeria.
The goal of Project Feed 1000 was to promote a population free of hunger in Umuzocha village, Anambra State, Nigeria. The objective was to alleviate the hunger of widows, aged, and single parents who are financially disadvantaged in Umuzocha village, Anambra State, Nigeria. To achieve the set goal and objective, we distributed bags of rice, yam, groundnut oil, tomato paste, onions, etc., to widows, aged, and single parents in the society. 500 beneficiaries were reached. Thus, more than 500 households in Umuzocha went home with a variety of foodstuffs such as bags of rice, yam, groundnut oil, tomato paste and onions. They all went home with foodstuffs enough to cancel the need for food for a few weeks
To determine the outcome of the project outcomes evaluation was conducted to know if the project achieved its expected outcome with the use of the appropriate methodology: qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. The outcome was determined by using different data sources, data collection methods and data collection instruments. The outcome: Reduced hunger of widows, aged, and single parents who are financially disadvantaged in Umuzocha village, Anambra State, Nigeria, was first determined through the data made available by the project coordinator through non-participatory observation and using observation guide as the data collection instrument. It was determined that 500 household members which some of whom were widows, aged, and single parents benefited from the project. Secondly, we used a community leader as our data source to further validate the outcome of the project. The interview was used as the data collection method, and the interview guide was used to collect data from the key informant. A video showing the community leader testifying of the impact of the project mirrors the fact that the expected outcome was achieved.
